Volunteer

Do you enjoy helping out? Are you an animal lover? Is there a specific talent you'd like to use for the Center's advancement? Feeding animals, teaching students, planting gardens, serving on the Board of Directors, & fundraising are just some of the jobs you can fill as a volunteer. The main log cabin lodge was built with volunteer labor, and these generous folks continue to be instrumental in the operation of the Center.

Tom Blum 

Tom Blum is one of those folks that never meets a stranger and makes sure that everyone he meets knows about CMNC and what we have to offer.   He has logged many volunteer hours getting to know our summer campers through helping them fish and working at special events held at the Center.   Tom is that person that every child should have to look up to.  We are so proud to have Tom as a friend of the Center and our Volunteer of the Year!

  Membership

Cochran Mill Nature Center relies on funds from people like you to continue to operate and provide wonderful environmental education experiences and rehabilitation services to our community. Becoming a member of CMNC is one of the easiest ways you can financially contribute to the nature center. 

A CMNC membership lasts 365 days and there are several different levels to choose from. All levels of membership entitle you to free admission, discounts on programs such as Nature Birthday Parties, Summer Camp and annual events like the Halloween Hayride or Snake Day Festival. Members will also receive our seasonal newsletter, The Millstone, and an invitation to our Annual Meeting. Join today and come see your donation at work.

  Donations                   

Cochran Mill Nature Center is a private, non-profit organization. We rely on private donations in order to operate. Your donation will help us with operating expenses such as funding education programs for children and adults, presenting Special Events to the public and rehabilitating wildlife that come through our doors. You can also designate your donation for a specific purpose, like a summer camp scholarship or wildlife exhibit. Sponsorship opportunities abound at Cochran Mill Nature Center.  Individuals, organizations and businesses alike may choose to sponsor any of the following:

Sponsoring an event will put your company's name in front of hundreds of potential customers while showing your support of environmental education, wildlife rehabilitation and the local community . 

Summer camp programs rely on rental vehicles, education supplies, scholarships and seasonal staff in order to create a fun and stimulating experience for children. Consider sponsoring a van rental or provide a scholarship for a camper that could otherwise not attend a camp program. 

Our environmental education programs are in need of sponsors for school bus and programming fees for low income schools. So many children do not have the opportunity to enjoy environmental education at our Nature Center because of the cost.
