WATER QUALITY MONITORING
August 14th, 2010
$3.00 for members and $5.00 for non-members
The Georgia Adopt-A-Stream program provides the training and knowledge you need to become a volunteer stream monitor. Join us for this hands-on, introductory workshop to learn how volunteers in this program monitor water quality using basic parameters, such as pH, dissolved oxygen, and temperature, and how to identify stream organisms (macroinvertebrates), which are also indicators of stream health.
Weather permitting, we will be visiting the creek for the field portion of the workshop, so wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes.
WITH SHARON SMITH, ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION COORDINATOR AT THE FULTON COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS WATER SERVICES DIVISION
Complimentary, light refreshments will be offered.
